BOOKTUBE-A-THON 2014 |
Though I am not really a BookTuber (I've only posted one video to date), I REALLY like BookTube-A-Thon! I think that the whole idea of a week-long book reading marathon is SO fun, and naturally, I want to participate!
WHOA... what is BookTube-A-Thon, you ask? Well, it's a week long reading marathon created last year by Ariel Bissett and Raeleen Lemay. It's really fun, and all sorts of BookTubers get involved. (HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW)
SO, the first order of business, it seems, is to decide on your TBR for the week. I've definitely decided to go along with the challenges that Ariel Bisset has created. Being awesome, I was able to merge lots of my challenges.... let us see....

CHALLENGE #1 + #4: A BOOK WITH PICTURES and A BOOK SOMEONE PICKS OUT FOR YOU
For my book with pictures, I had my friend Bryn (from my CoHF book talk) pick out a book for me! She chose...
The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night-Time by Mark Haddon. I'm totally stoked to read this because I know nothing about it, and it has pictures!
CHALLENGE #2+ #3: START AND FINISH A SERIES and A BOOK WITH RED ON THE COVER
Alright, I'm not going to lie, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to complete this challenge. BUT I'm going to try, and that is all that matters. The series that I chose to read, where the first novel has RED on the cover is......
The Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness, primarily, The Knife of Never Letting Go. I just ordered this entire series on Chapters Indigo this morning, and I hope they come in before Monday! I'm thinking I will be able to read AT LEAST the first novel this week. It's ambitious to say that I will read the entire series, SO I'm not making any promises to myself or to anyone reading this. We are not allowed to hold this against me.
CHALLENGE #5: A BOOK FROM THE GENRE YOU'VE READ THE LEAST
A genre that I've read the least of in my lifetime is MYSTERY. I never read any mystery novels, honestly, I usually just stick to YA. Unless you count Virals that I read earlier this year, which is kind of mystery, then I really haven't read much mystery. SO the mystery novel that I've selected is....
Déjà Dead by Kathy Reichs, the start to the Temperance Brennan series. I don't know if I've maybe mentioned this before, but... I LOVE BONES. The Bones TV show is my favourite TV show ever, and it only seems fitting that I read the series that started it all. I know that the novel is different than the television series, BUT I'm still excited to read it!
CHALLENGE #6: A BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATION
This is a fun challenge! You have to read a book that has been turned into a movie, and then watch the movie adaptation of the book! There are a LOT of book to movie adaptations out right now, and I have seen and read a lot of them, but one that I have not is.....
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I HATE watching a movie before I've read the book, and this is no exception. The only reason that I've seen the movie is because I was at my friends house and they all wanted to watch it. I am now FINALLY going to read this book, it's been eating at me since I watched the movie that I hadn't read it yet.
CHALLENGE #7: READ SEVEN BOOKS
If you've been counting, I have listed 6 books so far. Hopefully I will be able to read another one next week, but I don't even know if I will get through all of these! If I do read another book, it will most likely be The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater because I am currently reading The Raven Boys and LOVING it!
So there we go, those are all the novels that I am hoping to read for BookTube-A-Thon. Once again, this is incredibly ambitious for me, even though I AM a fast reader. I hope you enjoy!
Read on- B
