Top 5 Ways Readers Can Appreciate Authors- AWESOME AUGUST WEEK 4
Hello there and welcome to the final post for Awesome August! I will have the entire month's wrap up written for next week, so stay tuned for that.
This week I wanted to talk about authors, because they're the real reason we have all of these amazing stories, and they deserve to be appreciated for it. "Brittany, how do we appreciate authors?" you may ask... Well who better to tell you how to appreciate authors than actual authors themselves? So this week I sent out a message to several authors that follow me on Twitter asking how we readers can appreciate authors. I read all of their replies, and I've compiled them into a list of The Top 5 Ways Readers Can Appreciate Authors. Throughout I'll include little direct quotes from the authors themselves, but otherwise the words are all my own. Enjoy!

MEETING HANNAH HART- AWESOME AUGUST WEEK FOUR
She's awesome right? Okay, now that you'll appreciate this ten times more, here's the rest of the post.
I was on a trip to NYC last week, and the stars were definitely aligned, because I was subject to the most fortuitous occurrence that there ever was. (OK perhaps not ever ever, but it was amazing nonetheless) It just so happened that I was in New York City the day that Hannah Hart’s debut book , My Drunk Kitchen: a Guide to Eating, Drinking, and Going With Your Gut, was released. I was aware of this because she’s been talking about this book for what seems to be forever, and I was getting very used to the cover being the backdrop to her videos. However, I had kind of stashed the information in the back of my mind and planned to buy the book when it came out!

COOL COLLABS - ORIGINAL BOOK TAG
HELLO FELLOW READERS
Today I am bringing you something kind of CRAZY and new and exciting for me.... AN ORIGINAL TAG.
When I was struggling to find a tag for this week, I just thought "why not create my own????" SO a while later I had some questions ready for filming! I totally catered some of the questions to books that I wanted to talk about, but, hey, it's MY prerogative because it's my tag! (*Britney Spears plays faintly in the background*)

Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan - AWESOMEAUGUST WEEK THREE

"IF you don't say the honest thing, it never becomes true"
Goodreads rating: 5/5 starsRecommended: if you like contemporaries, this is an amazing one.
Review: If you ask me to describe Will Grayson, Will Grayson to you, (from here on to be referred to as WGx2 because that is so much simpler) I seriously struggle. Over the past few months though, I’ve been managing to simply say:
“It’s told from the perspective of two different guys named Will Grayson. Alternating chapters for each Will, one written by John Green, and the next by David Levithan. Then they meet. That’s all I’m going to tell you.”

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell - AWESOME AUGUST WEEK 2
HELLO WELCOME TO THE FIRST DAY OF AWESOME AUGUST WEEK TWO!!!

Goodreads review: 5/5 stars
Recommended: Highly recommended! If you are a Fangirl, then this is obviously the novel for you. Great characters and heartwarming story.
Review:
You probably won’t be able to find a bigger Simon Snow fan than Cath. You can try, but her massive following on her Fanfiction, Carry On, Simon, will probably beg to differ. Cath just gets the characters. College, not so much. It doesn’t help that her roommate of forever, her ‘built-in best friend’ always there twin sister, Wren, decided that she wanted a change this year and is rooming with someone else. She’s left feeling completely alone in a brand new environment, with a new roommate, and her new roommate’s ever present boyfriend. The only constant in Cath’s life is Simon, but when her favourite professor disses fanfiction, Cath isn’t even sure she can count on Simon anymore.

AWESOME AUGUST DAY 3!!!!

5/5 stars on Goodreads
Recommended: If you liked the Dustlands series by Moira Young and sci-fi
Review:
"The Noise is a man unfiltered, and without a filter, a man is just chaos walking."
Todd Hewitt lives in Prentisstown, a town where privacy is impossible. Every resident in the town of all men can hear each other’s thoughts. It’s not as simple as hearing the inner dialogue of everyone as if they’re talking; their thoughts come out in a choppy, unorganized stream of Noise. One afternoon, Todd and his dog Manchee (whose thoughts Todd can hear) come across a peculiar patch of Noiseless quiet in the swamp, and their lives change dramatically as they uncover dark secrets about Prentisstown and the men that live there.

My First Time (In BOOKS) - TAG: AWESOME AUGUST WEEK ONE
HELLO lovely readers! Today for Awesome August, I bring to you the 'My First Time (In BOOKS) TAG!' This tag was created by Divya Reads on YouTube, and I'm definitely considering myself tagged by her, because she said I could! The questions for this Tag (which will be listed down below) are all related to firsts in every book reader's life. I thought this went along nicely with the theme of the week, and without further ado, here is my video!

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater: AWESOME AUGUST WEEK ONE
WELCOME TO THE FIRST DAY OF AWESOME AUGUST

| The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater |
Recommended: I recommend this novel for anyone that is interested in a new adventure to read about. It's new, and exciting, and psychics.
Review.
Psychics and prep school boys. Did that peak your interest?
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater was an intriguing novel right from the start. The first couple of pages had me hooked right away, and once I started, I couldn’t put it down. Granted, that happens a lot when you’re not doing anything on summer break, BUT that doesn’t take away from how good this novel was at all.
